Using Endoscopy to Prevent, Find & Treat Cancers of the Digestive System

May 23, 2018 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm

Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer is a broad term for cancers that start in or spread to the esophagus, stomach, colon, pancreas, and other organs in the digestive system. Interventional gastroenterology uses non-surgical techniques to diagnose and treat GI cancer using an endoscope, a thin flexible tube that is passed through the digestive system. Join Dr. Jason Rogart, director of Interventional Gastroenterology and Therapeutic Endoscopy at the Capital Health Center for Digestive Health and Capital Health Cancer Center, for a discussion about the risk factors for cancers of the digestive system and what state of the art testing and non-surgical treatments are available for you right here in your community.
